Showcasing the Future of Simulation as part of Testbed UK Project ConVEx
Immense are an innovation partner in a consortium creating an open platform for the commercial exchange of data. The public-private consortium will be led by Transport for West Midlands and include Jaguar Land Rover, Bosch, Warwick Manufacturing Group, Valerann and Synaptiv.
The £8m project is funded through a £4m grant from UK Government through Innovate UK, and is matched by a further £4m from private sector partners. The data exchange will be used to accelerate the development of new mobility products and services in the UK. This includes connected and self-driving vehicles, fleet operations, intelligent infrastructure and new freight and passenger services.
Immense will be developing our innovative simulation platform to integrate data directly from ConVEx. This will create a persistent environment that can be accessed and used for modelling and simulation of future mobility scenarios. This builds directly on our next-generation simulation capability – providing an environment not only for planning the deployment and operations of connected and autonomous mobility solutions, but for harnessing the data this new ecosystem creates.
Immense CEO, Robin North, said: “We’re delighted to be part of the ConVEx consortium to deliver this capability for Testbed UK. Simulation is a key enabler of both deploying connected and autonomous vehicles, and for realising their benefits for society.”.
