Immense joins Midlands Future Mobility to Accelerate Future Transport Solutions

Immense have been announced as a partner in a world-class UK testbed for developing the next generation of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) systems.

Midlands Future Mobility is a £25m programme of investment being led by WMG at the University of Warwick, alongside partners HORIBA MIRA, AVL, Amey, Transport for West Midlands, Costain Group PLC, Wireless Infrastructure Group, Coventry University , Highways England and Vodafone . It benefits from a diverse road network of over 100km and will accelerate progress in CAM technology and infrastructure, enabling users to develop features in a highly-connected and monitored real-world environment.

Immense are providing simulation capability that bridges the gap between operational use cases (such as the performance of individual vehicles) and strategic use cases (i.e the performance of the transportation system). This will leverage the learnings from other work packages to create a fully capable simulation environment that appeals to a range of testbed users. In collaboration with the other consortium members,  Immense will enhance the capability of the Midlands Future Mobility digital assets to answer a range of questions around the impact of CAM.

Immense’s work has fundamental applications for regulation and permitting, and facilitates addressing questions such as: How do we ensure ‘mobility for good’? How do we manage the network of the future? How do we deploy CAM?
